High School FAQ

Students with typical cognitive abilities who have expressive/receptive language disorders, learning challenges in reading, math, and writing, and/or ADHD thrive at The Howard School.

Our highly-trained teachers and specialists create a hands-on curriculum that is designed for students who have learning differences. Small classrooms, assistive technology, and increased confidence allow students to unlock and embrace their full potential.

Students have opportunities to participate in sports, clubs, Prom, homecoming, pep rallies, dances, music and arts, and school trips.

Our students have a wide range of interests, talents, and passions, but simply need a different approach to reach their full potential. Come tour The High School and see our bright, ambitious students in action.

With 12 different competitive sports and a no-cut policy, every student has the opportunity to participate in athletics. Our after-school clubs are initiated by students and focus on their hobbies, favorite activities, and special interests.

Students explore potential career paths through internship opportunities, integrate their study of history and current events through guided class trips, and venture into their community to experience and contribute to the world outside the classroom.

High School classes incorporate real-world examples and hands-on opportunities to learn about the world around them. From current event discussions and exploring the uses of AI in the classroom to developing school-lwide and community-based projects to apply their skills and knowledge. Howard High School students are encouraged to ask questions and look at the world from different perspectives.
