The Howard School Evaluation Center

Navigating the Path Forward Together

Pursuing a psychological or psychoeducational evaluation can feel overwhelming and full of unknowns. At The Howard School Evaluation Center, we take the mystery out of the evaluation process. Open to the entire community, we serve children, adolescents, and young adults from public, private, charter, and independent schools throughout metro Atlanta. Our team combines state-of-the-art, research-based assessments with an empathetic, collaborative, and responsive approach. Students do not need to attend, apply to, or be considering The Howard School to receive an evaluation.

About The Evaluation Center

Many families seek an evaluation because a teacher or school has alerted them to an academic or behavioral challenge. At The Howard School Evaluation Center, we look at the whole child. Focusing deeply on a student’s strengths alongside their challenges, we develop a picture of how they learn.

Our strengths-and-challenges approach helps us understand each student’s unique learning profile. Rather than receiving a one-line diagnosis, families come away with a comprehensive, transparent report written in accessible, jargon-free language.

Drawing on years of clinical expertise, ongoing research, and experience working with hundreds of students, we provide families with a clear, personalized path forward through evidence-based strategies, interventions, and accommodations.

What is School Neuropsychology?

School Neuropsychology involves a specialized psychoeducational evaluation that combines the best aspects of traditional psychoeducational, psychological, and neuropsychological assessments.

Drawing on specialized postdoctoral training, the School Neuropsychology evaluation model employs state-of-the-art assessment techniques grounded in sound research. This comprehensive approach leads directly to evidence-based recommendations, interventions, and actionable accommodations tailored for both the classroom and home environments.

As parents, it is frightening and intimidating to seek evaluation for your child with learning differences. Dr. Hamilton directed this process expertly and with genuine kindness toward our daughter. His observations and recommendations were individualized, specific, and on target. With Dr. Hamilton's guidance, our daughter has thrived in school. Dr. Hamilton was a true partner with us and we continue to keep in touch with him years later
