Spotlight on Programs

The Howard School helps students discover their unique potential, celebrates their strengths, and guides them in accommodating their challenges. Our expectations are high but achievable, and with support and encouragement, our students often exceed their goals. We prepare students for higher education, professional opportunities and varied life experiences. Students gain empowering skills, academic knowledge, confidence and self-awareness. We help them understand who they are as learners, the strategies that will help them, and how to advocate for who they are and what they need to succeed.
At The Howard School, we believe that we are all born learners, full of curiosity and built for experimentation. We’ve designed our school experience with that in mind.
We care deeply about each student. We approach our work with a seriousness of purpose. Our school is deliberately small, and every student at The Howard School is known and respected for his or her individuality.
Our Teachers Teach Children, Not Subjects

Our teachers have extensive expertise in the teaching of students who learn differently — and we know that our children require a different approach, far beyond a remedial academic experience where children are pulled from the classroom to focus on their areas of weakness.

Develop Their Strengths
While we certainly address students’ weaknesses, we also help them identify and promote their strengths and natural interests.
Stretch Their Thinking
We advance continuous learning and development by teaching problem-solving and collaboration skills.
Give Them What They Need
We recognize that every child unfolds differently - so we tailor the learning experience to address each child’s learning profile.
