The Howard Exchange works in collaboration with schools and organizations nationwide to provide customized workshops and programs designed for all teachers and learners interested in responding to current research in neuroscience, executive functions, assistive technology, mathematics, and language acquisition.

Bring The Howard Exchange To Your School

The Howard Exchange offers on-site professional development at your school. Courses can be customized both in terms of specific content and time frame, and can range from one-hour up to full-day workshops. The Howard School Will Offer Orton-Gillingham Training this summer!

We are excited to announce that The Howard School will once again be offering Orton-Gillingham (O-G) training at the end of July. The trainings are run by Christi Kubeck FIT/OGA, Lower School Literacy Specialist.

Classroom Educator Level - $850
July 15 - July 19, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Participants will receive intense instruction on reading development, atypical/typical brains, phonics, phonemic awareness, and effective strategies for dyslexic learners.  Additionally, the course includes the effective and innovative use of technology to support the Orton-Gillingham approach.

Associate Level - $850
July 22 - July 26, 8:00am - 3:00pm
The Associate Level course is an extension of the content delivered in the Classroom Educator Level course. This course is considered week #2 of a series. You must complete the Classroom Educator Level to take this course. Completing this second week of in-depth coursework meets the Associate Level coursework requirements developed by the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA). In this course, participants analyze data/assessment, develop a student profile, and design/deliver an individualized lesson plan.
