Our goal is to have a balance between homework and home life. We believe that homework should be manageable and meaningful, not rote or busywork.
We know that through family time, neighborhood relationships and extracurriculars, children gain important skills that can’t be taught in school. Plus, science tells us that the brain consolidates its learning during downtime, especially during R.E.M. sleep.
For these reasons, The Howard School intentionally has less homework than many other schools. Our first priority is always the overall well-being of our students.
