Services
Language, Communication and Speech Services
The complexity of the underlying skills of communication increases over time for all students. Beyond the day-to-day learning in the classroom, some students benefit from more intensive work and support in any of the following areas of communication: listening, understanding, speaking, writing, phonology, and social skills. Nationally certified speech-language pathologists work with students in a combination of individual and in-class services to help the students meet communication challenges and improve skills.
Tutoring
The Howard School provides individual academic tutoring after school to the greater Atlanta community, and to Howard School students during the summer. Tutoring focuses on academics as well as providing students with personal learning strategies, organization and study skills.
