Welcome!

On behalf of the faculty and staff of The Howard School, I want to welcome you to the school’s website. We hope you find it to be a useful tool to learn about our school. At the same time, we encourage you to visit our campus and experience the excitement of our learning community first hand.

Now that we have completed our celebratory 60th anniversary year, The Howard School is entering an exciting new phase of growth.  Always striving to provide our students with the best education possible, we’re integrating what’s new – including the latest neuroscience research – with what’s tried and true, resulting in an education that custom fits each of our unique learners.

Current research tells us that learning is enhanced when students have a chance to exercise, so we launched a pilot program of brain-boosting movement breaks throughout the day.  Our faculty got excited about a multisensory math program that is especially effective for language learning challenges, and we’re teaching it now in our classrooms with great results.

These cutting-edge programs profoundly help our students.  As we integrate them into The Howard School curriculum, we take time to share our expertise with others in the community as well.  Going forward, we will continue to seek out methods that help our students learn better – and enjoy learning more – while spreading the word so that the larger community can benefit from our success.

The Howard School is constantly striving to strike the right balance of supporting our students, while we challenge them.  We’re here to help them move forward in this changing world by providing the best tools and playing to their strengths.  With this winning combination, I truly believe that for each of our students and for The Howard School, the future is full of promise.
