The Head of School shares New Year's resolutions for 2018.
The beginning of a new calendar year signals a time for many people to think about those things that they would really like to do, or think they need to do, and to resolve to do them during the new year. We call the items that make our "must do" list New Year's resolutions. Some years we're successful in keeping our resolutions, while other years we simply add them to our list for the next year, and vow that we will absolutely "keep that resolution."
So what's on your New Year's resolution list? Most lists include items like regular exercise, healthy eating and more quality time with family. Your list may also include resolutions that are more personal. My list is pretty typical, but it also includes things I want to do for The Howard School. I want to build a high school building that will give our oldest students a place of their own and the space to work as a real unit, and at the same time, provide more space for our teachers and specialists to work with all our students. I want to have a cafeteria with a full kitchen so that our students can have more healthy lunch options. I want to build a second road so that our families have an easier time exiting our campus. I want additional classrooms so that I can admit more students who need a Howard School education. And, no more trailers!
As you can see, my list of New Year's resolutions is quite ambitious, but I am committed to making all this happen so that The Howard School is an even better learning environment for our students. I can't keep my resolutions without your help, so you'll will be hearing from me early in this new year with ways that you can help.
Good luck with your New Year's resolutions, and may 2018 be a happy and healthy year for you and your family!
